An outbreak of fire earlv on finesdav morning' resulted in tlio destmction of a five-roomed house, owned and occupied bv Hugo Lupi. at No. 30 Brighton Street. Island Bav. It is understood that the occupants of the house had been burning sulphur durin. r the afternoon and 1 some of it had smouldered into a conflagration, fi ho brigade was summoned at 2.20 a.m., bv which time it was impossible to save either tho building, or the contents. The building was insured in tho Standard Insurance office for £lOOO, and tho contents for £5O.
