PARENT SHIP AT HOBART. Hobart, November 28. The steamer Sir James Clark Ross, the parent ship of the Boss Sea whaling expedition, has arrived. The crew numbers 125, and she carries two thousand fathoms of sin. steel cable, which enables her to anchor in any depth of water up to eight hundred fathoms whilp the whaling vessels hunt in the vicinity. If the sea is too rough for the blubber to be cut from tho whales alongside, they can be hoisted aboard and the “cuttingdown” done on tho deck.—Press Assn.
