RAILWAYS MINISTER
HON. J. G. COATES APPOINTED

The Prime Minister announces that the Hon. J. G. Coates has been appointed Alinister of-Railways, ip succession to the Hon. D. H. Guthrie, who has resigned the portfolio on account of ill-health. Air. Alassev, who has had a strenuous time since his arrival in Dunedin, will leave for Wellington to-morrow morning. The Hon. W. Downie Stewart will accompany the Premier.
