Efforts to raise the dredge Thomas King, which capsized on the breakwater extension at New Plymouth some time ago, are being continued by tho Barbour Board’s staff, although operations have been hampered somewhat by unfavourable weather (says the “Daily News”) ( Tho attempt to raise the vessel is being made with plant available locally and the scheme at present being tried is to pump air into the air chamber to displace the water, and so, with the aid of rafts, give the dredge sufficient buoyancy to enable it to be moved.
