In the Police Court at Dunedin, John Davidson, on four charges of theft of carpenters’ tools, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, and twelve months’ reformative detention. The police stated that accused’s fingerprints were identical with those of a thief named Rogers. The bodv found on the beach at Green Island, near Dunedin, has been identified as that of William Armstrong Scott, letter sorter, aged. 41 vears. who left his home at Mornington in September last. He was peculiar in manner and had not worked for eight years on account of ill-health. An open verdict was returned at the inonest yesterday.—Press As sn .
