A now Marquis of Normanby Hotel is being erected in Carterton by Messrs. Staples and Co. The hotel, which is being built in reinforced concrete, will have a frontage of 100 ft. to Broadway. The design of the front elevation favours the Spanish stvle of architecture, all. the heavy pediments of other days being replaced by broad, overhanging eaves, relieved here and there by gracefully characteristic pediment*.
