BRUCE PARK
TO BE OPENED TO-DAY. The new Bruce Park, at Silverhope, is to be formally opened at 2.30 p.m. to-day. The trustees of the late Mr. Robert Cunningham Bruce, at one time AI.P. for Rangitikei, say in the course of the invitation to the ceremony:— “The late Air. Bruce made the conservation of New Zealand forest one of his life’s objects and devoted a large part of his estate to this end. In furtherance of his wishes, the trustees have secured an area of about 40 acres of beautiful typical bush at Silverhope, which will serve both as. a national scenic reserve and as a fitting memorial to one of New Zealand’s pioneers.”
