THE MYERSON-“SMITH’S WEEKLY” CASE. Sydney, April 14. An appeal has been lodged on behalf of Emanuel Myerson against the verdict of the jury in the “Smith’s Weekly” libel action. ' It is estimated that the costs will total £12,000. —Press Assn. [Emanuel Myerson, a large propertyowner, of-Sydney, sued “Smith’s Weekly” Publishing Co. for £lO.OOO damages, for alleged libel, the defendants declaring that the statements published by them were fair comment and for the public benefit.
