—V OPENING OF SEASON. The Wellington Football Association will open its season with a six-a-side tournament on Saturday next, and the cup fixtures will commence the following week. On Saturday last practice games were pla>>d by the Y.M.C.A. (who mtend to 'enter two senior teams), Swifts, Diamonds, and Institute, and some good form was shown. The ground, hoWovor, was as hard BrS bricks, although heavy rollers had been put over it to endeavour to make it payable. Wellington Soccer ladies (the Aotoa Club) played ft ladies’ team (Sunbeam) at Porirua on Saturday, the latter vanning by three goals to two. Some really good play was witnessed.
INTERNATIONAL MATCHES. (Rec. 'April 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 14. The Association match between Scotland and England was drawn, each side scoring two goals. Ireland defeated Wales by 3 goals to nil.—Reuter. CHRISTCHURCH RESULTS. BY TELEGBAPH.—PEEKS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, April 14. The games played hero to-day resulted :—Nomads (2) v. Sunnyside (2); Western (1) v. Rangers (0); Lyttelton (3) v. Thistle (2); Villa (3) v. St. Albans (1).
