PASSING IT ON
THREE BOYS AND A RIFLE. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. had before him in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday three boys, Alexander MacKenzie (charged with being unlawfully in possession cf u firearm), John Kenneth Fawthorpe (charged with unlawfully procuring possession of a rifle), and n juvenile who was called to answer three charges concerning the same rifle. MacKenzie, it was explained, had had the rifle for a num ier of years, but when it became practically useless he made a present of it to the youngest lad. who in turn passed it on to the third bov. The rifle had not b Q en registerei. but the most recent owner was a n echanic. and. making it mrre or less serviceable, submitted d fo- reg ; stration. Ths defendants were convicted and discharged, and the rifle was ordered to be forfeited.
