A meeting of the committee of the New Zealand Society for the Protection of Women and Children was held yesterday afternoon, Mis. Sprott presiding. There were also present Mesdames J. Kirkcaldie, Chatfield, and Miss Kirk. Leave for nn extended absence was granted to Lady Stout and Mrs. W. A. Evans, M.A. Some considerable discussion took place regarding sexual cases and their treatment. Numerous cases th.at were being attended to by the society wore reported upon, some necessitating Court proceedings, while others were satisfactorily settled. Subscriptions were acknowledged from Mrs. F. Chapman £1 Is.. Mrs. Sprott £1 IS’> Mr. ". R. Atkinson ss.
