POSITION OF MILITARY DEFAULTERS.

Rugby Union delegates, in discussing the debarring of military defaulters, expressed a doubt as. to the pos, sibility of enforcing it efficiently. • A motion was tabled that no action be taken, but an amendment was carried referring the matter to the annual meeting of'the New Zealand Union .It was decided not.to tie the hands of the Canterbury delegates in tho mat- ' ter.
ENTRIES FROM DENOMINATIONAL SCHOOLS. Christchurch. April 11. Last night the Canterbury Rugby Union discussed the refusal of the Boys’ Association asking what action entries from the denomination schools A letter was read from the Marist Old Boys’ Association asking what action the Rugby Unon proposed to thke. The .Marist delegate stated that if the Mar-, ist schoolboys were cut out of the game the Old Boys’ Association would take drastic action. The union decided thatfailing acceptance of Marist entries by the Schools’ Association, the union should undertake a special grade for schoolboys, and also a mid-week second--ary schools’ competition. A committee was set up to report. ' ®
