BUSY THURSDAY COMING Deputy-returning officers and poll clerks will have no sinecure at the local body elections on April 26. Whilst the elector will have his work cut out to vote on the four or five issues to be placed before him, the task of the booth officials proves to be arduous. Not only will they have to check carefully tho ordinary roll (and its'supplementary roll) of district f electors, hut also tho ratepayers’ roll (and its supplementary) to be ugpd in connection with’ the Kelburn ' tramway purchase isSue, in which property-owners only are concerned, as well as the ratepayers’ rolls for tho Onslow and Karori districts, which only include the names of those who are owners, of property within the respective rating -areas. This will mean that six -rolls will have to be kept in each booth to meet all requirements on the last Thursday of the month.
