PREMIER’S POLICY SPEECH
PROHIBITION POLLS TO BE ABOLISHED BY TELEGBATH.—PBESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT. Brisbane, April 11. Mr. E. G. Theodore, Premier, delivered a policy speech at Cairns. He said that there 'would bo no increase in taxation and tho exemption would bo increased to £3OO. He announced tho abolition'of prohibition polls, ui4 the curtailment of tho hours 'of trading as part of his platform. A sugar pool would bo established, if tho’Commonwealth prohibited the importation of black-grown sugar. Mr. Theodore added that the last prohibition poll would bo held in October.
