SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
.The music, the home-touch, tho decorations, etc., all tended to a wonderfully bright evening for the seafarers at Mrs. J. Paterson’s concert on Tuesday at the Sailors’ Friend Society. The performers were : Mesdames Paterson, Hannah. Edwards, Stevens, and Misses Hannah, Fenton, R. Shepherd, Passau, and Messrs. East, Irvine, McCheynd. Mrs. AV. • J. Stevens and Miss Hannah wore at the piano. Mr. Moore, missioner, answered tho questions of the men relating to temperance, and again pledges followed. The competition prizes came from Hawke’s Bay and Kelburn, and were won by the Port Napier, Ruahiue, and Paparoa.
