Mr J. B. Norwood, who is a member of the AVellington Rotary Club, hopes to be present at the St. Louis Convention of Rotary Clubs whew he makes a trip to America this year. He wall visit the New York Rotary and present to it a New Zealand ensign in return for an American flag, which is to be given to the Wellington club. It was suggested at Friday’s Rotarian luncheon that Air. Norwood should attach an atlas to the ensign in order to let the Americans know where New Zealand is. , Air. Norwood expects to leave New Zealand in Alay.

That Hie working model refrigerator nnd the New Zealand meat therein now displayed in the large window of the flio-h Commissioner’s office in the Strand, London, is successfully advertising the Dominion’s meat industry, is evidenced by the Inquiry recently received by Sir James Allen from a retailer in South Wales (says an English exchange). He apparently noticed the exhibit while on a visit to the metropolis, and on reaching home thought he would like to give New Zealand meat a trial. He presumably did not observe that tho display was being made in the Government offices, as lie addressed his letter of inquiry to “The New Zealand Afutton Company. Strand, W.C.,” and it was delivered, without hesitation on the viart- of the postman, to the High Commissioner first post on the following morning. The man in the street (and his wife) also takes a great interest in the display, and it is a matter of some difficulty to get near to the windows when the machinery is working. Tar-spraying roads has resulted in a great saving of money formerly spent in watering and scavenging Two hundred and twelve thousand two hundred and ten tons of fish pass through Billingsgate market yearly.
