• BOYS’ LEAGUE. Tho AVellington Boys’ Cricket League held their annual social and presentation of certificates and trophies, won during the season at the Institute building,. Tasman Street, on Saturday evening. Mr. C. G. Wilson occupied tho chair, -and associated with him were Atessrs. Hewitt (hon. secretary Wellington Cricket Association), and D. AlcKenzie, with Alessrs. Hayden, Sharp, Fama. Jansen, Alason, Eell, and Pinkerton (hon. secretary of the Bovs’ League Afanagement Committee) Alusical items were given by AFessrs. Hewitt, Hayden, Jansen, and Master Alex, which were much appreciated. Mr Burton accompanied at tho piano. The following toasts were honoured: “The King.” “Wellington Boys’ Cricket League.” proposed by Ain AfcKcnzie and replied to by Air. Pinkerton . “Wellington Cricket Association.” ■proposed by Air. Alason and ieplied to bv Air. Wilson; “Championship Winners and Rep. Teams,” Alessrs. Bell and Hayden, replied to by Mr. R. Bilby (captain senior representatives). ; Champ onship cups were presented to the following clubs by Air. AlcKcnzie ;—Senior A grade : Boys’ Institute ; senior B grade: St. Thomas; intermediate A grade: Boys’ Institute; mtermedmte B grade: Stop Out; intermediate C grade: Khandallah; junior grade: Bovs Institute. Air. Hewitt presented medals to the foilowing players for the best averages in their respective grades :—Senior A grade: Al. R. Bilby (batting), H. Root (bowling) ; senior B grade : R. Escher (batting), .Cross (bowling); intermediate A grade: W. Coronno (batting), A. Lcggatt (bowling); intermediate B grade. *J. De Souza (batting), J. O’Sullivan (bowling) ; junior grade: Kent. H. Lucchesi was .awarded a special trophy for the fine batting average of 51. During the evening the visitors from Wellington Cricket Association gave the lads present some very sound advice. ■
