NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. The monthly megting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. R. C. Kirk (chairman), W. E. A. Gill, M. W. Horton, and A. F. Roberts. It was reported that the Miramar Club, which intended holding a tournament the week before tho amateur championship, had agreed to cancel the fixture in favour of the Manawatu Club, who had ataq decided to hold a tournament during that week. The North End Golf Club (Timaru), and the Toko Golf Club (Milton), wrote inquiring re affiliation with the association. Tho Ranui Golf Club (Tawa Flat) was elected a member of tho association. The secretary reporteed that arrangements were well forward for the professionals’ tournament at New Plymouth, commencing next Thursday. A cheque was forwarded to the New Plymouth Club for £5O. the prize subscribed for by the amateur golfers. It was not possible to fix the actual dates of the open and amateur championships at Wanganui in September, as the council had not yet been able to ascertain the dates on which the Wanganui races will be held in that month.
