Wellington’s first touch of winter will, from all accounts, not compare with t,he coming of -winter in the Ohakuno district. It was described to a Dominion reporter by a traveller, who arrived from Ohakuno yesterday by the Auckland express. “It commenced to snow at about mid-day on Sunday, and by yesterday morning the country-side was' coated with ®now six inches deep. Everything looked very beautiful.” The country was white as far south as Taihape, and tho passengers were full of admiration.
