ROYAL VISIT TO POPE
FORMALITIES COMPLETED BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT. (Rec. April 8, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, April 7. Formalities for the visit of the King and Queen of Britain to the Vatican have been completed- The ceremony will be based on the precedent of the ex-Kaiser’s visit to Pope Leo XIII. In view of the fact that the Sovereigns are Protestants tho Vatican does not insist that they should visit the Pope on the day of their arrival. The ceremonial is such that the King cannev proceed direct from the Quirinal to the Vatican. The Pope intends to greet Their Majesties with the highest possible honours. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
