At the recent Art Exhibition in Christchurch, a number of New Zealand artists, whose work is well known to Wellington art lovers, were successful in making sales of their, pictures. These included a fine oil pa'inting by Mr. Nugent Welch, ‘‘Golden Gate, Paremata”; a painting entitled “The Sun-b'athed Clay Pit,” bv J, Weeks; ‘A Flemish Waterway, by A. F. Nicholl; “St. Paul’s Cathedral,” an interior, bv Cecil F. Kelly; and an elective landscape!, “Hlapuka River m Flood,” by A. E. Baxter. Four of the above were purchased by the Christchurch Public Gallery. Paintings by these artists, amongst others, are constantly exhibited in Wellington at the Murray Fuller Gallery, which is open daily to the public without charge.
