The Rev. ’ Clarence Eaton, who has been minister of the Methodist Central Mission hero for tho past eight years, was to-night tendered a valedictory social, which was well attended by prominent members of all the Nonconformist churches in tho city, and eulogistic reference was mado to his services. Mr. Eaton was presented with a cheque for £lOO, and with a gold pendant and fountain pen. To Mrs. Eaton were presented a gold wrist watch and a sowing machine; to cnch of the two Misses Eaton, a gold bnngle; and to Master Eaton, a camera. Mr. Eaton leaves for Wellington immediately.
