COMMUNITY SINGING
TO COMMENCE IN MAY. Mr. E. C? AVebb presided at Monday evening’s meeting of the Vellington Communitv Singing Committee. Reference was "made to the great success which had attended last season’s “sings,” and it was decided to resume the weekly midday ‘-sings” on Wednesday, May 2, providing the hall is available on that date. The' sub-committee appointed to adjudicate on the community sons competition (for which a prize of £lO was offered) reported that some ten songs wore received, none of which it was considered merited an award. The songs will, therefore, be returned to their composers in due course. The. issue of a new and improved song-book was ment.oned, and several welkknown songs were suggested for inclusion in tho next edition.
