DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB By telegraph—press association. Dunedin, March 16. The Dunedin Jockey Club has altered the dates of the winter meeting to June 2,4, and 6. Mr. J. E. Henrys has resigned the position of handicapper after twentyone years’ service. It was decided to write to Mr. de la Perrelle, M.P., congratulating him upon his worthy attempt to induce the Government to lower promptly the present excessive rate of taxation upon racing clubs. DISQUALIFICATIONS DECISIONS OF AUCKLAND DISx TRICT COMMITTEE. By Telegraph.—Press association. Auckland, March 15. The Auckland District Committee today decided the Peerless case in connection with the Whangarei races of October, 1921 The horse Peerless was disqualified for the Poroti Hack Hurdles, the stakes to be refunded. J. A. C. Fleming was disqualified for five years, and L. Hectox- Wynyard far three years. The action was taken by reason of failure to register the partnership or joint interest in the horse. The committee took no action regarding ;the subsequent racing of the horse.

The committee also considered the Tama-a-roa case, in connection with the Ohinemuri races in March, 1921. L. Bohjs was disqualified for three years on the ground that he proposed to an apprentice jockey that the latter should pull a horse in the St. Patrick’s Handicap, and proposed to the trainer that he should allow the jockey to pull the horse.

THE HAWK’S NOMINATIONS DECLARED VOID BY AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB. (Rec. March 17, 0.35 a.m.) Sydney, March 16. The Jockey Club Committee has declared that' the nomination of The tjawk void for all races except the Doncaster Handicap, as flbe Jockey Club rules provide that unless the horse is outside the Commonwealth it must be registered thirty days before the date of the race. In the case of The Hawk, he was nominated for the Doncaster Handicap when in New Zealand, then bought bv Mr. Cameron and brought to Australia where he was nominated for other ihcup without first being registered.—Press Assn.

NOTES AND COMMENTS BY GLENCOE. The Masterton meeting will take place to-day. Racing will commence at noon with the Trial Stakes, in which the locally-owned Miss Deval, who has done a bit of racing, should have an advantage over the others. Karutahi, the top weight in the telephone Hack, can go very fast, but the lonir straight at Opaki may trouble him. Merrimas finishes strongly, and she may be the moat troublesome for Dominant, who, on Napier rorm. xs sure to be a good favourite. Peneus. the top weight m the laying Handicap, will be the best backed. He has an engagement in the Great Easter Handicap at Riccarton, and if he is to fulfil this he will require to show up to-day. He had a fall at Dannevirke. but this is not likely to affect him- Deroulcde, who lost a race at Woodville for interference on the part of her rider, may bo the best of the others. , They are a half-ready lot in the Stewards’ Handicap, and the lightweight .Vitella will be well backed on accourut of her condition. W. Garrett thinks highly of her, and this will weigh with backers. For the Dash Handicap the colours of Bonrina are likely to be prominent, for this mare won, well at Dannevirke, a,fter being in the picture the whole way. TT The Nelson Cup winner, Cheer Up, lias a luxurious impost in the Autumn Handicap, and on his form there and at Blenheim he is bound to give a good account of himself. Bitters is a likely sort, and ran two good races under adverse circumstances at Dannevirke, while ho also has his Wairarapa Cup victory to recommend, him to backers. The Kemball trio will be at a very short price in the Juvenile Handicap, and it is difficult to go past them. Good-sized fields #r« carded lor Opunake, which meeting also takes place to-day. Class is not a strong feature of the hurdle lot, and the Haweratrained Husker, who has been schooling well may be the best of them. Sunny Vale, who finished second to Tussore at Wanganui, is boiled to be well n. the market in the s Handicap for he was finishing strongly at the right end in his last race, and as if t< make the form read xetter. Tussore won a double at the Danniv’.rke meeting . It is expected that the going will be on the dead side, and, if so, Kareao, who is No. 1 in the Opunake Cub. will Je favourite, for he always shines on a soft t.ack- Eerie mav be the best of the light weights. There is a big field in the Electric Hack, but the distance will suit the .:n weight. Loved One. She has been working well at New Plymouth, and her trainer is confident she will give a good account of herself. Tho open sprint is a difficult race for backers. Santorini has been given swimming exercise lately, and he will be well in the market. So _ will Big Push, especially if the going is on the soft side. On a heavy track last July, Big Push defeated good fields at Trentham. A Press Association message frqm London states that racing circles are upset by the scratching of Soldennis, who was for a long time favourite for the Linoolnshir# Handicap, and yester-

day third favourite. Soldennis damaged a foreleg in a training gallop. Sunart. Cleasanta, Mireusonta, and Valerie, who are engaged at Riccarton at Easter, have also been nominated for the Feilding meeting. Penitent has been scratched for at' immediate engagements in Australif owing to unsoundness. TROTTING A RECORD BROKEN Br TELEGBA.PH—PRESS ABSOOTATtOCT. Whangarei, March 15.
