FIRE AT NAPIER BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Napier, March 11. A fire at Park Island destroyed the residence of the master of the Old People’s Home. For a time there was anxiety for the safety of the 90 inmates. The quarters of the. latter, however, were constructed of brick, and were only slightly touched. The work of removing the old men' was soon discontinued, as it was seen there was no danger. There was an insurance on the house of £750. MILL DFSTROYFD AT AHAURA. BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Creymouth, March 9. Orwell Creek sawmill, near Ahaura, was partially destroyed by fire last evening. Details are not available. Tho insurance was held by the Atlas office and was for £lOOO.
