SALVATION ARMY
Tho annual gathering of Salvation Army officers for the purpose of a conference will take place in Wellington during the coming week. It is to bo 'presided over by Commissioner Booth-'nicker who, with his wife, will represent General and Airs. Booth. He will be supported by Commissioner and. Mrs. Hoggard, the commanding officers of the New Zealand, territoiy, also by Colonel Alclnnes, who has occupied the position of chief sberetery for New Zealand for tha last seven years, and who is now under orders to proceed to Sydney, where he will take up similar duties. There will be some 400 delegates to the congress councils, when important matters will be considered in connection with the further development of Salvation Army operations in New Zealand. Among 'special features of public interest will be Commissioner BoothTucker’s lecture on India, on Saturday, Alarch 17, at the Citadel, Vivian Street. The Sunday services will be held at tho Toto Hall morning and night, and if tlio weather is favourable, in the Basin Reserve on Sunday afternoon. This service will be preeceded by a united parade, storting from Boulcott Street at 2.80 p.m. If the weather is unfavourable, the special gathering will be held in the Town Hall. The young people’s demonstration will take place in the Town Hall on Alonday, Alarch. 19.
