NAURU PHOSPHATES
DISPOSAL OF BRITAIN’S SHARE
London, February 20. Replying to a question ir. the House of Commons, regarding the disposal of Nauru phosphates by Britain, Major H Barnston said that the contract for the disposal of the United Kingdom’s share for 1921-22 was given to the English Fertiliser Company, with a provision for limiting profits. It was understood that a considerable quantity remained in the company s hands unsold, consequently the negotiations for a further contract of five years failed. The present price charged was Is. lOd. l>er unit of phosphate. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
