N.Z. ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS
At a meeting of the Council of th® New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, held on Tue»ilay evening, Sir Harold Beauchamp, Mr. L. H rf. Wilson Mr Martin Chapman, K.C., Mr. AAesley Turton, and Mrs. Frank Grady were elected life-members, m recognition of their valued assistance and support to the academy over a long peinod of An oil painting by the late Mr. Fred Sedgwick has been presented .to th© New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, for th© Art Gallery, by Mr»Sedgwick, mother of the artist. Hie picture, which is a fine example of >lr. Sedgwick’s work, has been gratefully accepted by the council, vote of thanks was passed to tfie donor for her generous and thoughtful act.
