FAMILY POISONED
THE NEW BRIGHTON CASE PROBABLE CAUSE'OF TRAGEDY ar TiLsasAPH- pums association. Christchurch, February G. In connection with the Now Brighton poisonin l ’’ case, the hospital authorities report that the condition of the father and the two eldest children shows a- slight improvement, but there is no change in the condition of tho mother and the youngest child. Dr Telford, Medical Health Officer, states that as far as tho Department s investigations are concerned, _ it has been established that the fruit eaten by the family was not a factor in the poisoning. . Post-mortem investigations bv IJr. Pearson, pathologist at tho Christchurch Hospital, hare shown that the tragedy was probably duo to bacteria in the milk used in making the blanc mange which was; eaten at tea.
