I The circumstances surrounding the death of Walter Pearson were investigated by the Coroner (Mr. W. G. Riddell. S.M.) yesterday afternoon. Senior-Sergeant O’Hara appeared for the police, Mr. H. F. O’Leaty for the New Zealand Shipping Compnnv, and j\[ r . p. .T. O’Revan for the widow of the deceased. Dr. Hector said' that the probable cause of death was fatty degeneration of the heart. Nancy Pearson stated that her late husband was 46 years of ago and a native of Manchester. Ho was a watersidor by occupation, and had resided with witness at 29 Hut! Road. Kaiwarra. On May 17, 1922. he had met with an accident while working on a l>oat. Ho had seemed quite normal when she retired at 7.15 p.m. on Saturday, but 1 at 6 arm. the following day his condition -dliecfimo serious-. A medical ! man 'Who was summoned pronounced i life extinct.
