Reports of catches of salmon have come from the To Anau fiords. On Saturday, stated, the Minister of Marino (the Hon. G. J. Anderson), Mr. Ayson (Inspector of Fisheries) received a telegram from Mr. Govan, proprietor of tho Like Hotel. To Anau. stating that Mr. J. R. Wilson had landed a fine fish from the,, Quinton River, and that these fish were also in the Edington River. Tho Government publicity officer (Mr. Drew) had also received a telegram from a Government photographer, who has been taking kinema and photographic views in the Otago-Sounhland lake and fiord country, stating that he had secured a fine kinema film of Mr. Wilson landing his catch.
A farewell message from the New Zealand Forces to the French cruiser. Jules Michelet has been replied to by Admiral Gilly in the following terms:— “Dnri’’" the whole of our sojourn in Now Zealand we have felt that our hearts and those of our brothers-in-arms in tho Dominion beat with tho same rhythm. The French Navy felt it a privilege and a great honour to have brought the geetings of Franco and tho dead of the Great War to the returned officers and so'diers and tho officers and men on active service in the Dominion.”
