RIFLE SHOOTING

WELLINGTON SHIELD MATCHES The senior and junior shield matches of the Wellington City and Suburban Rifle Clubs’ Union were commenced at Trentham on Saturday afternoon. A strong wind blew throughout tho afternoon, and conditions were not favourable from the marksman’s point of view. The shooting at 300yds. occupied more time than was expected, with tho result that under pressure of time it was not possible to complete the shoot at the 600yds. range.
