The vessel is bringing 230 passengers. She is to sail from Wellington next Friday on the return trip to Sydney. •

PAKEHA LEAVES BALBOA. Cable news has been received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company that tho Pakeha, cargo-laden from Liverpool, left Balboa on January 18 for Auckland Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is expected to reach Auckland on Tebiu ary 9 and Wellington on February 16.

CULNA FROM GULF OF MEXICO. The British India Company’s cargo steamer Culna arrived at Y» ellll f CtO Mpxico terday morning from Gulf of Mexico ports via Auckland, and berthed at No. 2 Queen’s Wharf. The vessel has 200 tons of case oil and 500 tons of basic Blag to unload here to the agency of tho Union Company. At Auckland the Cui put out 11,205 tons of basic Blag. 350 cases of turpentine. 49 barrels of resin, and a small quantity of lumber. Ihe remainder of her cargo, consisting of 4B.(«J0 eases of oil and 4000 tons of sulphur is to be discharged at Lyttelton. Dunedin, Bluff, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide The sulphur was loaded at Galveston, Texas, and the slag, qil., and general cargo at New Orleans. Louisiana. After completion of loading at the latter port the Culna called at Pensacola for bunkers. and cleared there for Auckland on December 11. Passing through the Panama Canal the Culna cleared Balboa on December 18, and experienced fine weather to Auckland. The Culna is 6152 tons register, and is commanded by Captain h. 8 Slightham, who has with him the following officers:-Chief. Mr. R. O. Brown; BeconS, Mr. K. G. Pullman; third Mr R. A. Yeoman; chief engineer. Mr. J. Ritchie. The vessel usually trades to India and Eastern countries, and carries Lascar seamen and firemen and Genoese stewards.
