Cape Town, January 19. Parliament has opened. The Gov-ernor-General’s Speech welcomed the signs that the country was beginning to recover slowly from the unprecedented depression, but added: “It is feared that the further occupation of Germany, may bring about an economic crisis in Central Europe, which may have very far-reaching effects, even for South Africa. A revival in the diamond market -is rendered possible by the early resumpt’on of work on some of tho mines.
