BRITISH TROOPS LEAVE BORDER TOWNS

The British troops which held Donegal and Fermanagh have evacuated Pettigo and other border towns. Thev have been replaced by Free State forces.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
FREE STATERS CAPTURE QUAKER ISLAND
London, January’ 9. Tho Free State troops captured Quaker Island, in Loughrea, County Galway. Four defenders were killed, and the remainder taken prisonoi*. The capture was effected with arroourixl boats and aeroplanes.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
