RESULT OF DELAY
POLES TO ANNEX EASTERN GALICIA. (Roc. November 3, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 2.. It is reported from Eastern Galicia that the Poles who occupy the country will hold elections on Sunday, as a preliminary to annexation. The Allies promised to determine the future status of the country in accordance with the wishes of the people, of whom four millions are Ukrainians. The Allies explicitly declared that the country was outside Poland and that Polish occupation would be merely a temporary measure. The Polish action is a result of the Allies’ delay in settling the question.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
