PACIFIC CABLES
DUPLICATION PROPOSALS. London, September 25. It is understood that the Pacific Cable Board, on the recommendation of its Australian representatives, has over-ruled the decision of Air. Milward, the general manager, in regard to the duplication of the Bris-bane-Vancouver section with a new to a wireless agreement, the development of which is considered as likely to prevent the duplication as a commercial proposition. The board decided to proceed only as far as laying the cable from Brisbane to Sydney and from Auckland to Fiji.—United Service.
