BEING CRIPPLED BY TAXATION By Telegbaph—Pbess association. Dargavllle, August 25. The annual meeting of the Dargaville Racing Club, held last night, unanimously resolved' to convene a meeting of delegates from one-day country clubs in the Auckland province to consider the question of extra permits or relief from the excessive taxation which is cripping the finance of many of them. The local club, it was stated, lost nearly £2OO on last year’s operations. The gross profit on the annual race meeting was approximately £BOO, out at which the Government took taxes amounting to close on £7OO.
