OAMARU MOTOR FATALITY
—* how the Occident happened. BY TEIiEGIAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Oamaru, June 28. Further details of the fatal motoring accident show .that Mr. Ihomas McQuin, auctioneer to - the I’armers Association, was motoring up a steep road, loading to Hakataramea, at 5 o’clock yesterday in a blinding storm, and in the darkness failed to _ recognise a bad turn in the road. In consequence the car went over a bank and capsized. The accident was shortly afterwards discovered by Mr. W. McCullough, who conveyed Messrs. McQuin and J. Matheson, of Waimate, who accompanied Mr. McQuin, te th® Hakataramea Hotel, where a doctor was promptly in attendance. Air. McQuin was so seriously injured that he lingered till 9 o’clock, when ho exPl Mn Matheson had a leg fractured above the knee, besides other injuries. He was conveyed to the Waimate Hospital.
