Hunt, S.M., presided at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court yesterday. “A NUISANCE TO THE COUNTRY.” .Donald Matheson, who had many previous convictions against him, came up on a charge of drunkenness. The accused made a voluble plea for another chance. Sub-Inspector McNamara handed up a list of previous convictions against the accused. “You have been convicted 74 times,” said His Worships “you are only a nuisance to the country.” Matheson was sentenced to twelve months on Rotoroa Island. / AN M.P.’S BRIEF BAG.
