McCLEARY’S PROTEST DISMISSED STAKES TO BE PAID OVER BY TELEGRAPH-PRESS ASSOCIATION. Dunedin, June 28. The committee of the Otago Boxing Association met to-night to consider the protest made by McCleary against Awarding tho decision to McQuarrio in the heavyweight championship, fought on Monday night. It was resolved that no protest could be. entertained as tho decision was given on a question of fact, and no previous decision had been given. The secretary has been authorised to pay the stakes forthwith. It is understood that McCleary proposes to appeal to the boxing council.
