PORTUGUESE AIRMEN
RESCUED FROM THE SEA. New York, May 12. A message from Pernambuco, Brazil, states that the Portuguese cruiser Republic® has reported by wireless that the two Portuguese airmen who were attempting a trans-Atlantic flight, were picked up by the British steamer City of Paris. They fell into tho sea shortly after leaving Fernando de Noronha Island on Thursday morning.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. Lisbon, Mav 12. The aviators left Fernando de Noronha on Thursday to fly to Rio de Janeiro via St. Paul’s Rocks, and had not been heard of for several hours. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
