Negotiations had taken place between tho M.C.C.. the Australian Board of Control, the- New Zealand Council, and Mr. Mac! aren. and from what he could seo he thought the team would camo out under Mr. MecLaren’s captaincy, but under the auspices of the M.C.C. He was cure thev would agree with him that this was a verv good move. Much as they appreciated Mr. MaeEaren. there was no doubt that tho M.C.C. was tho chief bodv that controlled cricket, and added lustre would be given to the tenm under MacLare.nl if it came out under the auspices of that body. lAs to 'the! financial ' aspect of the (proposed visit, as far as he could see the arr-.ngenicn.ts.would be such as to relieve tho council of any anxiety, and might nossiblv bring a little profit to the New Zealand Council. On the tmbiect of fimce. the chairman refecrad to Mr. Wilrnk motion on the snhiect proposing that the whole of the finance ehoulci be in the hards of the Management Committee, tmd sa’d the idea was that a fund should bo built up to provide for New Zealand feenmo ,fo visit England and Australia. When a fund o' JE3COO was obtained they canid think of such visits. Thev bad no nosribilitv of securing smelt a fund unless under s'rfmt scdll scheme ns Mr. Wilson proposed. While the financial proposals in rospebt of the proposed visit from th“ English team were in a stole of flux, thev could not oarrv c>- u Mr. Wilson’s Ideas, and he thought the matter should be left to the Management Committee. At the October mooting it might bo possible to inform delegates of the position.
