LARGE AND REPRESENTATIVE FUNERAL. (Rec. October 7, 10 p.m.) Sydney, October 7. The route of Mr./Storey's funeral, from the Cathedral to the railway station for several hours before the cortege moved was lined with dense crowds. After an impressive service at the Cathedral, conducted by the Dean and Primate of Sydney, the procession, which was headed by' the fire brigade band and 3000 marching unionists, left for the field of Mare cemetery. At. ihe railway station special trams were waiting for those marching. Tim Cathedral where the body lav in state was visited by many thousands. It was one of the largest and most representative funerals held in the State,, four motor-cars being necessary to carry ihe floral tributes. Members of the Federal Latour Party were absent, the secretary telegraphing that they were unable to attend owing to the critical position in the House of Representatives. —Press Assn. FLAG INCIDENT AT SYDNEY TOWN HALL. Sydney. October 7. When the flogs at the Town Hall were placed at half-mast for Mr. Storey, the Union Jack flew above the Australian flag. The Ixird Mayor (Mr. Lambert) ordered the Australian flag to be placed above the Union Jack, and it now so flies. The incident has caused much adverse comment. —Press Assn.
