A report under tho Discharged Soldiers' Setttlement Act tabled in the Queensland Legislative Assembly showed tlie aggregate area set apart for perpetual . lease selection was 541,286 acres, for per, petual town lease 11 acres, and perpetual suburban lease 101 acres) In addition, 88,400 acres wore set apart under other sections of the Act and Land Act, Altogether, £823,700 had been advanced on holdings to 1882 soldiers for Improvement purposes, and £228,203 to 612 soldiers and widows for workers’ dwellings. The sum of £800,662 had been expended on soldiers’ settlements throughout the State. The total numbo- of soldiers repatriateci was 4922.
