THIS PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS A SECTION OF THE GREAT CROWD WHICH WAITED HOUR AFTER HOUR IN THE POURING RAIN FOR THE ST RUGGLE BETWEEN THE SPRINGBOKS AND THE ALL BLACKS. THE LAKES OF WATER ON THE PLAYING FIELD ARE PLAINLY VISIBLE IN THE ORIGINAL PICTURE. UNFORTUNATELY THE WEATHER WAS AGAINST GOOD PHOTOGRAPHY AS WELL AS AGAINST A DISPLAY OF THE FINER POINTS IN FOOTBALL.
