Lately it has become known- that the tombstone over the grave of Sir William Fox, who was four times Prime Minister of this country, had become broken and part of it with tho inscription on was lying face downwards near the grave, also that the stone over lady Fox’s grave had become canted to a dangerous degree. It is thought that tho subsidence of the earth in the vicinity has been tho cause of the trouble. It is understood t-hat the members of tho New Zealand Alliance, of whom Sir William Fox was undoubtedly tho father, have interested themselves’in the matter and lately sent a representative to Purewa Cemetery to make inquiries with the result thnf/-"n-Ls will be mads, to put the grave and the gravestones in proper, order.
