DOMINION CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, September 14. The Dominion Conference of tho New ■Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union has opened. It was stated by tho president (Mr. Kennedy) that the union now controlled practically all athletics, cyclingi and wood-chopping throughout New Zealand. The finances of the union were healthy. It was hoped during the coming season to revive the pre-war bicycle road races between Timaru and Christchurch and around Mount Egmont. A committee set up to revise the rules of axemen’s competitions decided to appoint one handicappet for all wood-chop-ping events in the North Island.
