KUROW LEAVES NEWCASTLE The Kurow left Newcastle at 9 a.m. on Wednesday with a cargo of coal and general cargo for Wellington. She is due hero on •Tuesday, and will subsequently proceed to Picton and New Plymouth. ATHENIO TO COMPLETE. The 88. and A. liner Athenic arrived from Gisborne last night to complete Homeward loading. She is expected to sail for Southampton and London, via Panama, on Thursday next, at daylight.

THE EAST COAST BOATS. Tho Kanna. is due back from Dunedin and Lyttelton next Thursday to load for Auckland. The Katoa should be back about to-day week from Auckland to load for Lyttelton and Dunedin PORT BOWEN FOP. LONDON. The 0. and D. liner Port Bowen is to sail for London to-morrow. She will go . Home via Cape Horn. MISHAP TO THE OPAWA. The mishap to the Opawa’s engines was rather more serious than was at first thought. She left for Blenheim at 8 pm. on Wednesday, and put. back to port about three hours later owing to machinery trouble. It appears that her crank shaft has suffered damage, and she will have to undergo repairs here. TAHITI DUE TO-MORROW. The R.MS. Tahiti is due from San •Francisco at 7 a.m. to-morrow. According to the last wireless received from the vessel. She will sail at 5 p.m. on Monday for Sydney MAR’AMA NEAR SAN FRANCISCO. The R.M.S. Marama is due at San Francisco on Monday next from Sydney and Wellington. She is timed to leave again to-dav week, and is due here about October 16 The Opua is expected to-morrow from Lyttelton, and will leave in tho evening for Greymouth. It is not yet known for what port sho is to load there. The Waikawa is duo from Auckland to-morrow, and will sail about Tuesday for Lyttelton. The Storm is Jo leave for Wanganui to-day. a.iid is due back on Sunday to sail for Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin on Monday. The Port Lyttelton will sail early next week for Napier. Definite information has been received that the Echo has paid off and tied up at Blenheim for an indefinite period. 'The Waverley arrived yesterday from Patea with a load of meat for the Port Bowen. She is duo here again on Sunday from the same port with a load of cheese for transhipment The Ripple is to sail for Napier and Gisborne to-djy. She is due back about Thursday next, and will then undergo her annual overhaul, in connection with which she wjll go on the slip. The Putiki, which is due on Tuesday from tho East Coast, will take up the Ripple's running about Wednesday. The John is duo from Lyttelton about the end of next week. The Zita will probably sail for Lyt-' telton to-day to load flor Wellington. After that; she is expected to go to Collingwood to load a cargo of salica sand for hero Tho Ngahere Is not now expected from Wanganui until to-morrow. The Ngakuta. which is due to-morrow' from Limestone Island, will sail for Greymouth on Monday, taking general cargo. The Hinemoa is to leave Auckland today to search 'for the buoy that has broken away from D'Urville Rock. She has already substituted another buoy.
