Several societies had already agreed to this, and were paying sixpence per pair for feet. It was decided to continue paying threepence per pair of feet. Tho Department ,of Internal Affairs advised that tho High Commissioner had cabled that it would be unwise for the society to make arrangements to have two "liTnus and two stags shipped from Tendon -owing fo frequent, outbreaks of foot and mouth disease. The High Commissioner suggested that the animals should be shipped from Liverpool. This would mean an increased cost of about .MO, making the approximate total cost, including tho deer, .£205. It was decided that all the arrangements for the importation of the deer should be cancelled indefinitely. It was mentioned that the rainbow trout ova supplied by the Otago Society had turned out very successfully, and that the fry were very good. The eggs were hatching out well. A grant of -£lO was made to the fundr of tho AVairorapa North Committee.
